Tuesday's Jacksonbelle Challenge

Hi!
Today is Tuesday's Jacksonbelle Challenge. The challenge was to use something you have not used before. I decided to use the clear Inkadinkado set I have not had the chance to ink up yet. I also used some Prima paper from the "Steel Toe Mary Jane's" collection. Let me tell you....the Prima collections are awesome!!! They come with beautiful paper AND a pack of Prima flowers and gorgeous ribbon! I am in love with the ribbon this pack came with. One of the packs I ordered comes with some felt flowers, too!
For this card, I stamped the butterly image in Cool Carribean on white. Then, I stamped the butterfly again on Carribean, Cameo Coral, and Chartreuse and popped them ontop of the original image. I used a strip of the lime green floral patterned paper from the Prima pack over a CC card that I stamped with polka dots. I added a simple sentiment with a pewter clip.

Floral Birdie

I am in love with this bird! I think I must be the last person to get this set!! I finally succumbed!:)
I made this card for the challenge over at the Jacksonbelle Embellishment Forum. The challenge was to use Basic Grey paper, which is easy since it is all so beautiful!! My favorite right now is the Sultry line. I love the pinks and greens! I used the "rock and roll" technique on the bird to get some depth. I used Pretty In Pink and then "rolled" Purely Pomegrenate around the edges. I added a Prima flower, some Pomegrante stitched ribbon, and some brass brads.

Check out the other DT members challenge cards!

Good morning! I am so excited to participate in my first challenge with the girls from Jacksonbelle's design team! The challenge was to use pink, green, and grey. Pink and green are easy for me....they are my favorite colors! I usually love grey also, but I had such a hard time last night. I tried to add grey in every which way and it was just NOT working. So, I figured I would go with what I liked.

This cupcake set is so cute and easy to use. This is an Inkadinkado (I love saying that!) clear set. I hear that Lindsey will have a bunch of new Inka stamps soon....so check back!
I wanted something festive and fun...I really wanted to start with a scallop square in the gorgeous Sultry paper. Then,I stamped the cupcake on watercolor paper and cut it out. I prefer watercolor paper...it takes the color so much nicer. I am loving my Nesties!!! They are So fun! This card was easy to put together, once I gave up the grey. :)

Recipe:
Stamps: "Birthday Cupcake" (Inka), sentiment (Savvy Stamps)
Paper: "Sultry" (Basic Grey), white (Papertrey), watercolor (Bienfang)
Ink: Pink Passion, Purely Pomegrante, and Old Olive (Stampin Up)
Acc: pink rhinestones (MAMBI), "Star Dust" Stickles (Ranger), ribbon (Michael's), Nesties (Spellbinders)

Birthday Cupcake

I just love cupcakes! I made this fun card for my sister. I also gave her some stamping goodies for her birthday. (Hi, Lauren!) You can never have too much stamping stuff, right??

This cupcake stamp set from SU is one of my all time favorite sets. I use it a lot. I have recently ordered two other cupcake sets. So, plan to see lot's of cupcakes in the future! :)
I used the slit punch to make the scallop edge (I hear SU's is getting a scallop border punch !!!). I used the Stickles to make sparkly sprinkles...because cupcakes are better with sprinkles! Then, I added a big acrylic jewel for a fun topper.
Recipe:
Stamps: Big Bold Birthday, Dotted Background
Ink: Regal Rose, Lavendar Lace, Apricot Appeal
Paper: Regal Rose, Lavendar Lace, Apricot Print Pattern DSP, Whisper White

At the Zoo

Hello!
I have been busy with the kids. Last week was spring break and I think I need a "spring break" after last week!
We all had lots of fun. We went to the zoo on one of the days and had such fun! The zoo was having a special Dinosuar exhibit. I love when they have fun exhibits. After the zoo we went to our favorite pizza place afterwards. Have you ever
been to an Uno Chicago Grill?? It is so good! I highly recommend it if you have one local or if you are traveling and see one.
After lunch we went to the local scrapbook store and I got some great new additions to add to my scrap {addiction} stuff.
Hope you all had fun spring breaks, too!

Aren't these dinos neat?

The alligators are real :)

Here are some of my new stamping goodies. Don't you love new designer paper??

I'll be back tomorrow with a new card and some BLOG CANDY this weekend!
Have a great day!

Kassie's Tea Party

I had a Tea Party for Kassie's 5th birthday. I had hats and gloves for each of the girls.....they kept them on for maybe, 5 seconds!
Don't the cupcakes look yummy??? My mom and sister made these. They were strawberry, lemon, and vanilla with homemade buttercream frosting. They were delicious!! And, the best part? There were a lot left over! YUM!
We served a pink and a green punch. Chicken salad and turkey mini croissants, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into flowers, strawberries and cream, and fruit and cheese kabobs.
There was a table set up where each girl could make her own bracelet and a table where they could color and glitter "tea" inspired coloring pages. I just printed off the computer from various sites.
I made the little favors for the girls to take home...I found the little jars at Michael's. I filled them with pastel M&M's
The girls looked adorable and we all had a great time!

**Thanks to all who helped me and the moms who let their little ladies share Kassie's day!**

Have a great day!

7 Random Things

Hi!
I was recently tagged by Kristin and Stephanie.
Here are 7 random things about me...
1. I collect teapots
2. I collect Agatha Christie books
3. I could eat chips and salsa every day. My husband makes THE best salsa!
4. I do not eat any seafood
5. I have only been out of the south once and that was to go to Utah for a SU convention! (I know...I need to get out more!)
6. I love to read....I usually finish reading a book the day I start it.
7. Some of my friends call me "Martha". Last week a friend called me and said "Hi, Martha. I was wondering if I could go ahead and put out my Easter decorations". {{Hi, Heather!}} And, This Sat. I gave my DD a Tea Party birthday party and a friend asked me if I made the hats {{ Hi, Lori!}} (I gave each of the girls a "tea" hat and gloves). Too funny! I am really not that talented!

I'll tag Monique, Jackie, and Maren.
Have a great day!
